Looking for Quiestest Interior

Hi all,
I am looking for the quietest interior for my mother. She does not want any interior noise, does not want to hear the engine at all (at any speed or even under acceleration).
Most cars are quiet when new but the engine noise quickly becomes intrusive after a year or so.
She quite like the ES.
Any other suggestions?

PS I mentionned to her the RX 400h but she is not willing to wait til December.

our 94 GS300 is pretty quiet...

if she doesnt want any interior noise, she doesnt want a car..

no matter what, every car has interior noise...

I realize that. She actually walks one hour to go grocery shopping!! However, she enjoys a quiet car so that it does not intrude into her music listening.

Well if you turn the music up loud enough.... no exterior noise will "intrude" lol....

Out of the cars I've driven: RX, ES, IS... the ES is the quietest & smoothest....
The IS engine is noisy when slowing down to a stop from high speeds (sounds like a jet) and accelerating (as in normal).

regardless of the car....u will hear engine noise and outside road noise....there is no such thing as a quiet car.....just turn up the volume to drown out other noises.....or she can start singing really loudly in the car....but tint her windows so everyone doesnt think she's talking to herself in the car.....

all Lexus are silent.. .expacially the ES330, LS430..

make sure u get the premium Mark Levinson audio package.. you'll love it!

We went test driving on the weekend. She settled for the GS. Tried the RX (noisiest, too bad the RX 400h is not yet out), the ES (quiet except when accelerating above 2000 rpm), and the GS 430 (fastest yet surprisingly the quietest,...on a number of occasion she thought it was noisy but she was listening to the car beside us!!!). Yes the ML audio was phenomenal (I don't think most people even own such good sound in their living room!). The acceleration on the GS was very sweet. The LS was too much money.
Mind you the GS was brand new and the ES tested had 14000km on it. I'll let you know next year after some mileage on the GS!!!
