Hay, I am interested in lowering my is300, but I heard that there are light sensor, ABS sensor and all kind of sensors that it may go wrong if you take out the springs improperly, do you know any reliable shop that has dropped a number of is300 and have no trouble with the sensor stuff (Toronto area)?

I dropped mine at Speedtech on Silver Star Blvd at Midland/Finch, and I didn't have a problem. It cost me about $120. What I liked was that they allowed me to watch the entire process, I could stand right behind the guy as he was changing the springs. What I didn't like was that I heard about those potential problems before and asked Sherman about it, and he could not give me any guarantees that such a thing would not happen. I guess he was just covering his a$$ like any smart business-person would. Nonetheless, it ended up being fine.

should fine ..with 1-2 inch drop..don't think anyone reported problems with few inch drops

so far, any known sensor problem caused by lowering is the auto levelling HID sensor..but i think u need to lower ur car A LOT to notice problems.

I really want to lower my car, but the risk is so much, I wonder how much lexus is going to charge me if I have my sensors mess up.

Speak to anyone on this forum who is from Toronto, and they will tell you who the best Toyota mechanic in Toronto is: Basil at T-Lex.

Basil is a Toyota-trained Lexus and Toyota mechanic, and used to be a Lexus team lead/technician at Don Valley North Lexus Toyota.

He'll charge about $250 labour to drop your car. It's surely higher than Speedtech, but you'll have a fully qualified Toyota mechanic working on the car. Also, the install will be done right the first time around - on a a proper lift, not on jacks like they do at Speedtech.

You worry about sensors being snagged in the process. In that area, you should only have ABS and traction control sensors. Any careful shop would not damage them.

i posted this once, but some toronto dealers have lowered ISs in their show rooms.

(lowered with Eibach springs)

by looking at this, it might be safe to lowering ur car by 1inch will be fine.

Honestly though, you don't have to worry so much. They're just changing springs. It's not as complicated as you think. I don't think you'll have any guarantees no matter where you go. But if it worries you that much, then just take it to someone you can trust.

How much for Eibach springs and some decent shocks (illumina/bilstien) in Toronto? I wanna drop my IS3 only an inch. Can I get away with keeping the stock shocks or will they blow soon after lowering?

I think we are fine with stock shocks + eiback

some IS come equipped with eibacks from dealers...

shocks should handle 1&quot; drop with no problem!

ok, where should I go and how much? Is the ride bouncy with the stock shocks or is it ok. I want it to ride like stock.
I've dealt with Speedtech before with my old 99 Accord I was happy (I got a spoiler from them).

Are they still good for the IS300?

from the feedback from is300.net and my friends with other cars..

stock shocks + eibach is bit bouncier than stock setup.. (but feels close to the stock)

but gives better conering..
can't have it perfect with just springs i guess..

Seems like Tein HT springs are more popular than the eibachs are in the IS300.net forums. They give a 1.5&quot; drop. I got a quote from Speedtech for $480 install and taxes in.

I am also thinking about lowering my car with just eibachs...

with 1.5&quot; drop in winter..i guess it all depends on how u drive..

i scraped my front bumper and exhaust few times (im not even lowered!) if i lower even 1 inch..i don't think i can enter some of the parking lots...
