Not all Lexus owners are "rich" -- I guess it depends on how you define "rich"
But anyways, there is the "December to Remember" sales event going on right now and its the end of the year so it's easier to negotiate a good deal.
I bought my 2012 RX three weeks ago at about $500 over invoice price. MSRP $55K, invoice was $49,800. Lexus is offering 0.9% financing that you can take advantage of if you are not paying the car off in cash.
To give a perspective, I also bought my previous ES350 in late November of 2006 and for that I was given $800 over invoice. If I remember correctly, the MSRP for that car was around $45K with an invoice somewhere around $39K
The price really depends on where you are located and how much supply is in the area. Also, you should negotiate from the invoice price - don't mess around with the MSRP price. For a Lexus, the markup is so much that even if you get $3000 off MSRP, you're probably still paying $2000 over invoice.
