Antenna problem

I have a 1996 Lexus Es300, and today when i got home, my antenna was still up, after i turned off the stereo.. So i turned it back on while opening the trunk, and i can hear The antenna motor working Both ways. But the antenna moves no where, I was thinking something was wrong with the connection between the antenna and motor, and how I would get to it, do I just take off the trunk interior?

You might need a new antenna mast. Its a common problem with retracting antenna's (i'm assuming its a new to you ES..or else you would have known about it). I think i'm on my THIRD set for my 94 ES. Its easy..its just you got to know what your doing. Lucklily its never been the motor for me...but with limite info. you gave i'm guessing its just the mast. Good luck and i think there are detailed posts on clublexus for replacing such!
