Unhappy Problem with RX330 Bluetooth Handsfree connect to SE P900

Hi there,

I recently traded in my IS200 to a RX330, the car is good and everything works well but I am having problems connecting to the bluetooth handsfree with my Sony Ericsson P900 (with latest firmware R5B02). I have tried using a Nokia 6310 and it worked fine... Any ideas ?

That firmware might actually be TOO new for the RX's bluetooth capability, though I'm not entirely sure.

Just some more details...

The P900 found the handsfree ok, I entered the passcode and it bonded ok. However, the handsfree in the car does not pick up the P900.

I used a Nokia 6310 as well as a T68i which bonded fine without any problem.

For example with the T68i, I did the discover, get it bonded. Then I can just go into paired device and select the handsfree and connect it.

I have tried to send the phone number from P900 via bluetooth to the handsfree (to inital some sort of communication) but it also failed...

Got it to work with 910 and LX470

I think I might have a fix.

I have the LX 470 and thought I couldn't do it with my P910 and I got that same screen where it was still waiting for a connection and saw how it was finished pairing on my phone.

While still on that screen I saw the headphones on my bluetooth on the 910 screen meaning it paired with a handfree system. So I made a phone call and that compelted the bonding and turned on the mic and speakers.

So after you finished bonding make a call.

Another thing that may be a part of it.
I renamed the handsfree to the "BLUETOOTH HANDS FREE" that was one of the options.

And changed the pin code to 1111.

I hope that works.

Hi Nibaq..

Thanks for your info. I tried as per your instruction but still unable to get the P900 connected to the bluetooth handsfree in the RX330.

I found in SE knowledge base that SE P800/P900 series use the bluetooth profile "headset" and does not support the bluetooth profile "handsfree" which Lexus mainly use... and there is no fix available.

Very disappointing, I just need to use my HBH-60 then...
