radiator bleed procedure

Does anyone have the procedure for an ES ? I drained my coolant and now have a sloshing noise in the dash and very little heat. Must be an airlock in or around the heater core.

thanks,
Bob

sounds like an air lock. Got to force the fluid around to get the air bubbles to end up at the top of the radiator. With heater temp on high, turn on car and once engine is hot start massaging the top radiator hose to force the water to move around inside(and the air bubbles). Things are getting pretty hot, might want to use a glove for this.

Then wait for car to cool down. Check coolant overfill jug, probably empty now. Open radiator cap CAREFULLY, then add coolant/water mix. Tighten cap and fill overfill jug to full line.

should be good to go after that.

first off, what did you fill it with? i always let it run on just distilled water for a city drive...for a day to ensure full flush..then i fill with 70 water and 30 coolant (since i'm in houston and our winters are not that cold). Again, make sure the levels are filled well....i've never had an airpocket with my ES, on my solara everytime...
