Question 95es300 Front Rotors Consistently Warp

Howdy All,

The front rotors on my 95 ES300 warp frequently. Symptom first shows up as brake chatter.

My mechanic (and Lexus dealer) have not determined the cause or cure. Anyone else have this problem? Fix?

Cool

  1. How often are you engaging in medium-heavy breaking force (Under 5s of coasting when stopping)
  2. How long of a break-in process do you give your rotors
  3. How much are you spraking them with water
  4. What kind of rotors are they

This may be a silly question but, you're not one of those drivers that drives with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are you?

For what it is worth, will be changing my Camry's rotors. Will not use OEM this time but the more costlier Brembo rotors. Presently have a slight shudder from the front brakes noticable when coming off of interstate exit ramps. Just plain rotors, no drill holes, no slots.

What quality rotors are you buying, and do you replace pads when you replace rotors!

Are the techs working on the car using a torx stick or torque wrench? Are you a hard braker at all? A good practice is when you do some hard braking to a stop, stop short, then slightly roll forward to let that area cool.

I have heard of that trick too. And so far, it works.

(It is funny though, my wife's Accord never has had any warpage, and she doesn't do any thing but press the brake or press the gas.)
