Hey everyone im new to these forums and the community seemed very cool and you guys seem helpful and nice so i figured i would ask this.
I'm 14 and am very into cars and i love the Is300 and am looking to get one for my first car. and keep it for a very long time. and i wanted to know if anyone could help me find somecheap ones or know when or if the price is going to drop anytime soon. right now i only have 200 and im not spoiled so this is going to be some work. just wanted to know if anyof you could help. and maybe if i find a good deal i could maybe beg my dad to layout the money and pay him back over the years. lol
i would expect the price to drop within about two years, since toyota/lexus will be releasing teh new IS really soon. It's still gonna cost a lot though, at least 15-20k i think.
IS300 is a very sweet car. Gotta love the 2JZ engine. The new IS will be released in spring so the price of the 05 and less models will drop substantial in the next year or so.

well rsx the price right now is like around 15-25gs but im not talkin bout a new car im sorry i didnt confirm this but for my first car i want it to be a used is300 and i intend on keeping it for a long time and street race with it eventually. so now for another question. do u think sellers will lower their prices ?
it should lower about 5 grand by the time u can starts to drive . i didnt even know that there was a new IS for 05 im waiting for the new GS to come out my dad wants to buy that
lol, not for 05. 06, possibly 07. I think it's 06 though.
and yeah, didn't realize they were that low now. Last time i looked at prices was when i was looking to get my rsx (2002). I didn't really check what tehy were now. but now that u mention it, that does make sense (4 years, about 30k new). I'm guessing 2 years until you drive, so yeah, probably around 7-10, not 5k, but you could always get lucky.
yeah i really hope so i intend to do the following to it but i gtg now so i cant say everything
Weight:
-strip it all down
-carbon fiber rims
-CF hood
-take out all the seats and carpet
-replace driver seat
-drive shaft
-windows
-completely strip the trunk
-take out panels
and for the weight reduction PLEASE help me with this i really wanna know what else i should do to make it lighter
Engine:
-turbo
-cool air intake
-exhaust system
more....
and then i might just buy another car for prob under a grand and make that like my car wit my friends and shit like put a system in it nothing to the engine. body kit, spoiler tinted windows. seats tvs in the headrest and everything
i might keep that car for a little while then sell it for more and buy another nice one that ill keep for longer and hook up better to bring to car shows and stuff
^^if you only have 200 bucks now....u'd better start thinking of a way to make lots of money then......
u want to get an used IS300 when in a few years....completely gut the car and make it an all out/riced out 'STREET RACER'....and you want to buy another car...for under a grand...and make it into your daily driver/show car with tvs and all.....i think that you truly don't understand the concept or value of money.....good luck with this...and make me a believer in a few years cuz i can't see all of this happening.....u may have good intentions and a great imagination but in the real world.....won't come true.....
no no i know this but the second car i could care less about right now and sorry for having such lil money lol i dont have a job but am getting one and my dad might pay for half. and ive only been saving for like about a month thats why i dont have a lot. so honestly it prob will happen but the second car idc bout that all i car about is my is300 and hooking it up
u have a few years still to save up money to get a used one....i wasn't trying to discourage you from getting it...just from stripping it down and gutting the car....good luck with this...you will love the car....its a blast to drive....i'm a lucky SOB cuz my GF happens to own one.....
lololol u lucky bitch. but yea i was never intending to get a new one by anymeans i dont think anyone should get a new car for their first unless their rich sobs but besides that i hope to do what i explain above. i definatly wanna gut it and only have prob 2 sparco seats in the front
Hey Kid, do you have any clue how much insurance will be if somehow you do manage to get an IS300? Im not saying you wont, I mean if you're really dedicated and get a good job and save everything you can have enough for an IS by driving age.
however.........seeing as you think it'd be really cool to make it all cool and pimp-tastic and fast and go STREET RACING I seriously hope you end up with something slow like a corolla instead.

oh and kid, WTF? why do you want to take out the seats and gut the car? its a Luxury sedan. You dont need to gut it to make it fast.

Reminds me of when I was 14 and was calling 4 cylinder cars V4s. When and if he gets an IS300 he is going to wish he got a corolla when he sees how much it is going to be to insure in LONG ISLAND, NY. Even on a parent's policy I am going to say no less than $4Gs a year. Save your money and go to school. Get an older celica if you want to play street racer, don't hack up a Lexus.
