I was talkin to a guy on a forum and he mentioned sometin aboout a 3sgte swap into an is 300? Why would you swap a 3sgte intsead of a 2jzgte, sice it came with the 2jzge. He said its being done in cali and hawaii.
I thinkyou would get way more pwr from a 2jz and the swap would be much easier than the 3sgte.

1. Be different
2. He wanted tohave a TRUE altezza
3. have a bad ass car with a bad ass engine
he had a 2j supercharger kit in it A LONG ASS time ago, but he decided to go all out on this car cuz he saw the potential. Also, parts for a 3s-ge aren't that hard to find in Japan. It's a lot more popular the the N/A 2j motor.
His goal isn't to have mad horsepower. He did it to get recognized.

i can understand why he would do a 3sgte swap then. i doubt it would of cost him that much anyways. since if he sold a 2jz it would be like almost 2 times the price of a 3sgte. but i'm sure he gets tons of people going wtf?? and all worth it if he had the time and money.
That is a real nice swap when you come to think of it, I forgot about the ALTEZZA, that came with the Beams 3sge motor, but i bet it cost a lot.
For guys with no money issue, you can go all the way. If i get an IS300, and have a lot of money I would probably do the 1jz or 2jz turbo swap, that's me.
Oh by the way BenG i think the 1G-GTE is a 2.0l inline six twin turbo,i think they had this engine for a while now, it is also 1G-GZE Supercharged, they came in the 80's toyota crown.

Ohhh...ok.that makes sense...I knew the Altezza came with an optional 6cylinder motor..but I just assumed that it was the 2JZ. A 2.0 litre 6 sounds pretty sweet...smooth, and less peaky than a high power 4....
I'd rather "follow the norm" and swap a 2jz in it. That or swap for a 1uz-fe. Obviously, turbo on both.
It is soooo unfair... Last time I priced a 200 (been a good long while) they were like 17,000 USD in japan Thank you Toyota!

that pic at the top is BAD ASS!
nice motor swap!
i'm going to automotive school soon
hopefully.. i wanna get a job in the
tech field make at least $20 an hour
somewhere....
anywho
i wanna do something like that someday.
I was pretty stoked way back when they announced that he Altezza was coming out and that it was going to have a 240hp 2.0 4cylinder, a GTE would be just that much cooler.
I'll bet those 4cylinder cars handle very well.
Wouldn't mind an eight, but the IS300 weighs nearly the same as my SC, so not worth it IMO.
Now if you want to be light weight and still want the Power out of a 3SGE motor
Take a Look at TODA Racing. They have all the sweet goodies for N/A 3SGE motors from the IS300
As for a 3SGTE its probly better off instead of putting a turbo on a Beams HighCompression motor and just get a GenIII 3SGTE out of a 205Celica or MR2
the Celica ECU comes with around 265hp and the MR2 245Hpwr
Weird stuff. but I have friends with full interior in their GenIII MR2 and they run 12.5 in the 1/4 with stock IC piping, all they have is 3 inch downpipe and exhaust and a Boost controller, as well as a BreakUpgrade that lightened the weight from the original break rotors and calipers. www.huxracingusa.com check em out.
