Does a trailer hitch reduce Lexus RX300 resale value

I want to add an aftermarket trailer hitch on my Lexus RX300 but my wife is harping on me that it will drastically reduce the resale value.
I want to tow a boat (I haven't bought yet) for my grandkids and I'm gonna need the hitch anyway.

What can I tell my wife to get what I want?

Seriously, look into one that can be uninstalled easily if that is your worry.

some people think that if you tow stuff there will have been lots of extra stress on the frame of the vehicle, yet there is a reason every vehicle has a towing capacity, just dont exceed it and youll be fine. and like 1995m said, it doesn't cost that much to get it removed before you sell the vehicle
