92 ES300 Low Oil Light

I have a 92 ES300 with just under 200K on it. Sometimes when driving the "Low Oil" yellow warning light will breifly come on. When I check the oil it is within the normal level on the dip stick. The "low oil pressure" red light never comes on. Could it be the sensor, or could the oil pump be going out? What about going from a 10-30 oil to a 10-40 grade.

How many miles can these engines go before needing replacement? I change the oil every 2K and it is never driven hard - mostly highway miles.

with your kind fo driving, i would easily think 300K was feasble, maybe even 500k.

the oil pump should probably be replaced here before long, i would say at the 2rd timingblet change, i woudl do it for peace of mind.

the red one is low oil, the yellow signifies pressure (i may have that backwards, but thats what it is on my ES250). so you are havinga pressure problem. DO NOT go with a thicker oil if you have a presure problem, this could cause the problem to amplify.

check your oil after lettingt he car sit on level ground for about 30 minutes to get a perfectly accurate reading.
