Gen1 newbie,urgent help!

hello guys,am new here.have got this quirky problem with my 91 ls400 and needs some updates frm anyone.everytime i step on the gas,there is not downshifting of the gears and the engine becomes jerky until it speeds up.i suspect some blockages in the fuel or air line.as i m a diy guy,i have clean the throttle body and changed the fuel filter but to no avail.can anybody help me put here back to her former glory!thanks.

have changed them about 1month back but have only clock about 800km.do they affect as in my case.am really lost and cracking my head trying to trobleshoot.

I think you should try changing spark plugs and high tension Cables full set. I had a similar problem and changing them rectified it.

Try putting it in first gear via the shifter. If this works, it will tell you the transmission is shifting internally.

What transmission fluid did you use? Did you use Mercon? Dextron? That car needs T-4 (toyota ATF not sure if it's at kragen or not).

have tried downshifting on the go to 2.no problem except it will jerk if rpm is to high.could it be the throttle controller?
