MY 92 LEXUS ES 300 AUTOMATIC LOCKS, TRUNK OPENER(THE BUTTON IN THE CLOVE COMPARTMENT IS PUSHED IN), AND INTERIOR LIGHTS NO LONGER WORK. ONE DAY THEY WERE WORKING AND BY THE END OF THE DAY THEY STOPPED. I HAD ALL THE FUSES AND RELAYS CHECKED. WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM? DOES IT MEAN I HAVE A SHORTAGE AND IF SO IS THAT COSTLY TO HAVE FIXED
Wiring shorted out? Could be something got burned.. Double check all fuses and fusebox. Clean battery cables. Check the light bulbs/any mechanical part on the door that might not be working.

YEA I FIGURED SOMETHING SHORTED ITSELF OUT AFTER NO ONE COULD FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. THIS IS WHAT I WAS THINKING. I NEED TO HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM PUT ON MY CAR COULD I JUST USE WHAT THEY INSTALL INSTEAD OF HAVING THE WIRING CHECKED. THE ALARM IM GOING TO(sorry for the caps) the alarm i wan to haev installed will open and unlock the doors, but now thinking i should just have the wiring checked because of the interior lights and trunk, so you know if this is expensive? I know i have to check around
No use trying to add an alarm until you fix the car first.
Besides all teh parts mentioned all lead back to teh OEM alram system as it is controlled by them.
Also you need all of it to work to put in anotehr alarm anyway.

It can cost a reasonable bit depending on who does it. Make sure they know how to check the wiring though.
