I have a 1993 Lexus LS400 that needs an ECU replacement. Dealership wants $1800, KBB book value is $3300. The car only has 117,000 miles on it, and the interior and exterior is in excellent condition. What should i do?
see if a junkyard has one. I checked car-part real quickly, but didn't look very hard, and didn't see where u could search for ECU. I'd call around ot local junkyards though, and see if they have an LS400, and then see if they have an ECU.
got a 93 ls400 too... has 220K on it... runs perfectly quiet and ac is ice cold less than 2 minutes under 30 degree outside.
your mileage seem strange... unless you brought it off from your grannys... but very admirable mileage if its real ...
recently lots of dealer purchase outside ontario from other province, tweak the mileage (even new Mercedes), and sell it in ontario, because our transport ministry who check the previous history and mileage. this is how people scam...
p.s. nevermind... didn't read ure from the state...

LOLz its ok. The car actually broke 116,800 miles today . It's a handme down from my parents, and since I have my Tacoma (see sig) I don't drive it much either. Still having the same problem though
Are you sure it's the ecu? Our ecu's are pretty bullit proof. What are the symptoms? Just won't run? sure it's not a MAF? or a TPS? that could easily be the problem.
