1990 LS400.. Some day a classic?

I have a 1990 Lexus that i got from my grandfather. It has only been worked on buy lexus dealer's. I was woundering if this car would some day be a classic. If im not mistaking. This was the first year lexus was made. And the first model. It is in mint condition. Just got new paint job and we are getting the seat's redone. Has 207,000 miles on it. Just woundering will it be worth more money than i ever paid for it? Will it ever go up in value?

Thanks alot,

Nick S.

Doubtful. Very few cars increase in value. The days of collector cars are near gone I fear with the era of technology. Need an example? Price a set of points and see what availability is on them for a 1970 Plymouth HEMI `cuda($100,000+ car)..... then attempt to price and check availability on an ignitor for an 86(? first year)Celica Supra. There are vacuum port switches even on your Lexus that are no longer available.
See my point?

even it does become a classic, your's won't be worth much. Hate to rain on your parade but for one, way to many miles regardless of it being a toyota, and two, you got a paint job. It's like re-finishing an antique table. It devalues it more then you can imagine.

too young to be classic to me...

at least not cars younger than 25-30 years old...

Pre war cars are vintage

and Post war - 70s are classic

For example: Mercedes 190SL or Gullwings are classic...

^ 20yrs is considered classic, 25yrs is antique. "Vintage" is anything old. (I use to own a hot rod shop/museum)

Wether the LS400 will be worth something ... doubt it, too many made. 55 and 57 Chevys are hot and popular but there were so many made they can still be picked up for $500-2500usd

FYI: Lexus debuted in 1986 as a 1987 model under ES250, that was the first Lexus!

get a classic car. I don't think it will up in value except if you pimp it out with diamonds on the rims and high-quality interior trims and stuff.
