Question 1997 Es300 Need Assistance

im new in this forums, i have a workshop in indonesia and currenlty have an order to repair Lexus ES300 1997 that has sink on tsunami disaster on dec 2004
i have completed the body repair on the car and know im searching a ECU for this car
im found the ECU number on the car is as follow

ENGINE CONTROL
TOYOTA
89661-33870
175000-8691 12V

1MZ-FE A/T

with slot number

| 34P | 22P | 16P | 28P |

the problem is i can't find any ECU on the market that has a exact number as listed on this lexus
i've found some lexus ECU that match for the engine number 1MZ-FE A/T and match slot number on ebay

the question is can i use this kind of Lexus ECU to this car ?
they has the same engine number but not for TOYOTA parts number ?

i think you can. I'm not a professional, but i know that honda drivers switch ECUs all the time. take a B18C motor and slap on a GSR ECu and it works fine. why dont you call up toyota and ask them?

I work at Lexus and can't see any reason why you couldn't use the right part number ecu. I'm not sure what you mean by slot #. I can't imagine Toyota making a bunch of different ecu's when they could use the same one, but maybe change the programming per region, if thats even necessary. In fact I don't see why even a Camry ECU wouldn't work.

use the ecu numbers from the damaged car only. imzfe came for many years, and your ecu is tuned not the same like others.
