Upgrade LX470 to Compass Mirror

Can anyone offer me a direction to wiring/electrical information. I have a 2000 LX470 with a Auto Dimming mirror and want to upgrade it to a Auto Dimming mirror with Compass. I purchased an 2002 IS300 Auto Dimming mirror with Compass and installed it. The orginal connection from my LX470 had four wires Red/Blue/Yellow/Black and the IS300 had the same with only a different shape connector. I cut off the connectors and connected the wires together. Everything installed nicely and looks as if from the factory. The auto dimming function is perfect and during ignition ON the compass display goes through its test cycle and then goes to two dashes "--", but no compass reading. \

I was told that the IS300 mirror has the compass integrated (not just the display). So I am assuming that either the compass does not work (this was supposedly confirm from who I purchased the mirror) or the supply lines from my LX470 are different from the 2002 IS300.

Does anyone know where I can confirm the wiring/electrical voltages for the two vehicles mirror circuits and if the IS300 mirror actually has the compass integrated?

I don't know if I can help. I just installed a Toyota dealer available monchromatic auto dimmer mirror/compass/temp mirror in my 05 RAV4. I had an auto dimmer mirror already. The install was not too difficult. I simply changed mirrors (same Gentex brands) and then installed the temp lead to the front of the vehicle. The hook up was to simply connect the temp wirre to the mirror in the two open slots. The compass was auto calibrating. Instructions said to drive in a 360 circle and the compass would auto set and be good unless I replaced the mirror on a different vehicle. It works good.
