USA 2004 Lexus RX330

Hey folks, just a "heads up", my wife owns a 2004 Lexus RX330, this may have already been posted, but just in case ...

There is a "repair bulletin" for "04 330 Disk Brakes, the "Service Invoice" basically describes it as bad disk pads. As, all they seemed to de was re-surface the rotors and replace the pads. Hard to say what was "really" wrong? The brakes started vibrating after heating up. We were navigating Highway 50 on the way to Tahoe; it felt as though the rotors were warping a bit when hot. I told my wife, "If we actually make it to Tahoe and then back home alive, immediately take this thing to Lexus and tell them about the brakes!

The second had to do with how the transmission not shifting appropriately. My wife described it as "just didn't feel right, the engine was revving high before it would shift". The fix for this was "REPROGRAM ECU", Part # 896614847? Go figure?!

Anyway, just a heads up in case the news was new. They should have notified owners about the brake issue, Highway 50 is no picnic at times, and requires good brakes or deal with sheer cliffs.

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!

Peace,

JD

That's good to know. Wouldn't wan to be going down the Beartoth Highway on the montana side with brakes doing that. Could end up flying off a 10,000 ft mountain.
