Lexus ES300 Truck Button

I have a 1994 Lexus ES300. My owners manual was lost in the recent flood after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. My truck open button on the drivers side door does not open the truck. I remember this is a security feature but I cannot remember how to make this button work. Any ideas?

on toyotas if the trunk key is left straight verticle the trunk is locked so you can open it from inside. If it is horizontal then it is 'vallet locked' or 'double locked' so it can only be opened from the outside with the key.

On the glovebox there is a lock/unlock mechanism to make the fuel door+trunk lip (this only locks or unlocks it doesn't open it) like kinda preventing valet to gain access to the trunk! Make sure its in unlock position...thats the only thing i can think of?

Thanks for the replies. I found the button in the glove box and can now open my trunk. I need to purchase a new owners manual.
