Yes, it fixed the problem, I don't hear any banging noise anymore.
If your Corolla is over 5 years old and has over 60k miles, you might want to replace the struts as well since you're going to have to open them all up anyway. Those Corolla struts don't last very long, they'll ruin your tires.

I bought 4 Monroe (front & rear) struts for $57 each @ Autozone(the 4th one was free after mail in rebate).
2 front strut mounts for $35 each.
You'll need a spring-compressor, I got one from Sears for $59 (Sears item# 00971466000) (rental tool from AutoZone did not work for me). And BE VERY CAREFUL! when removing the coil springs. Good Luck.
