Btw, I would NOT recommend Hamer Toyota for the cross bars. Nothing but excuses from their parts department. After reading the post above, i called them and they said they would hold it until I can come later to purchase them. Well I stopped by after work and the person told me that the bars are out of stock. However he said that he could order them and it would be here in two days. I was pissed that whoever I spoke to had told me incorrect information, but I paid for the bars fully expecting them to be there in two days. Well two days later, I called and a parts representative told me that the bars were not there and it would not be there for another two to three weeks. I decided I would have to take a trip back to the dealer to get a refund since they screwed up two times now giving me wrong information. I went back 6 days later because of work schedule. I asked for a refund since they do not have the bars in stock and the person tells me they are going to charge me a 10% restocking fee. Now I'm really pissed. The nerve of them trying to charge me a restocking fee for something they do not even have in stock! I explain my situation calmly to David. He tells me he can get the bars here within 1 hour. I tell him that I will give him 2 hours and if the bars are not here, I will get a full refund with no fee. Fortunately for both their parts employees and myself, the bars were there when I came back. Did I get the part I wanted? Yes. Was it worth the hassle, and four trips to the dealer, being lied to on the phone? Definitely not. What it has resulted in is a big negative image of Hamer Toyota and their parts department staff and operations. The only positive thing that came out of this is a stellar employee, David in the parts department who did his best to make me happy.
The least they could do after all that was to offer to install the part on my car.
