Although it's not a big deal to restart the car I agree the engine shouldn't shut down when the door opens. The aftermarkets I've installed only died if you hit the brake before putting the key in the ignition.

Yea, engine should not stop - but does not bother me too much as the main purpose is that the car/engine warm up while you are still in the warm house/restaurant etc. I guess its simply a safety concern. Maybe their is a trick to change that...
