I had this done on my ES350 first thing when I bought it. I brought it to the dealership and had them dissable DRL as part of the LPS option for my car. After that, the AUTO feature will still work just like before, just that DRL is never on during the day.
I'm not sure if this is possible on the Camry - try asking the dealership's service folks
