If you look in the engine bay on the passenger side, there is a rubber thing with a bundle of wires running through it. I put a hole in that and ran the power wire through there. It goes inside the passenger area above the foot well area for the front passenger. There isn't much space up there to work, but it can be done. I found that putting a bit of grease on the rubber thing made it a slightly easier to slide the wire through.
As for the LOC, the way hookup you are describing sounds fine.
