Is it a creaking sound? Sort of like a rattling sound that goes away when your clutch is pressed in? It has nothing to do with the transmission. It is your clutch!
It is your clutch release bearing. Most likely your clutch is shot and needs to be replaced. You should get a good aftermarket clutch like Exxedy or ACT.
