I have a 2001 XLE and had exactally the same thing happen to me. I bought the car new and treated it well but both heated seats stopped working just after the bumper to bumper warrenty ran out. The dealer said that both elements were burned out. I decided that if both burned out in just over three years then I wasn't spending $1000- to replace them for another three years. Canadian winters are cold but that's crazy.
