Unless it's seriously old and worn out, your starter probably won't need more than new brushes for the motor, and perhaps new solenoid contacts for the relay (depending on its design). These parts are neither rare, nor expensive. If you pay more than about US$10 total, you got hosed. Look around for an auto electric parts house in your area.
