I live in Vancouver BC and my DRLs are the highbeams on low voltage. I dont see why it would be different in another part of Canada but maybe your lumination sensor is malfunctioning. Unless its programmed to be that way. I'd ask the dealership about that.

Yeah, the lights on my XRS' steering wheel are pretty dim. I figured it was supposed to be that way to prevent it from becoming a large distraction.
