The "SHORT PIN" is another word for FUSE. In this case, it would be the one for the radio (already installed). A "RID" (radio ID) is assign to every satellite radio. It is used to activate the satellite radio when you subscribe to a provider. The headunit can display channel # or station ID or song title or artist (MAX 8 characters). The headunit SAT functions are similar to the features available on AM/FM/CD/MP3. As for shipping to a UPS store, many businesses will only ship to your credit card billing address so as to prevent fraud and the savings will shrink even more with the drive to the border at $1.15/L Canadian ($4.35/gal US) for gas.
