Remote Starter an Oxymoron
MN24 completely misses the point. When Toyota developed the Hybrid Synergy Drive they had one ... and only one ... objective: lower urban emissions.
Remote starters are one of the greater causes of CO and CO2 emissions; they allow cold engines to idle for protracted periods when the catalytic converter cannot function.
So, MN24, don't buy a hybrid for its environmental benefits and install a remote starter. If you do, you're spending $4500+ over a conventional vehicle and achieving negative benefits.
