You can check the
Black Book value (Canada) or the
Kelly blue book value to get an idea of the price ranges for the vehicle you are intrested in. I have used the Canadian Black Book for buying and selling and it was helpful.
These should at least give you an idea of what kind of vehicle you are buying based on the price range.
