With the hood down, I stand outside the car, but put my foot inside and on the gas peddal and rev it way up. I believe my prob is in the CAT and therefore it sounds like it's coming from the rear of the car. Or possibly the muffler. Either way, it's in the exhaust system in my case. Interesting post 95GT. This one has bugged me for years now. This summer that CAT is getting gutted.
