Forget the "aftermarket" retrofit path. If I'm doing a retrofit of an option available from factory, I want it as factory as possible.
For cost I'd estimate could run you up to $1k if you get everything from 1sttoyotaparts new. Junkyards will sell for less.
You need to do work in three major areas;
steering wheel (to add the stalk)
behind glove box (to add the cruise control computer)
engine bay (to add the cruise control actuator)
behind passenger fender (to get access to the wire harness so you can hook up the actuator
Depending on your transmission, more work to add a cruise control clutch switch and wire it up (the wiring may already be there) or tap into the "D" wire of your tranny (there's a junction block wrapped up inside the engine wire you can use). This is a safety signal to disengage cruise if you shift out of D or depress the clutch.
Lots of labour, that's for sure.
