I don't know about you guys, but I personally don't know anyone with dial-up anymore. I am a computer programmer and computer hardware specialist and the term "56k friendly" didn't ring a bell until just about a week or two ago because (like someone else stated), no other site that I visit uses that notation. My first modem was a blazing fast 1200 baud modem attached to a 286 12mhz Packard Hell so I know all about dial-up and each step computers have made since then. Personally, I don't see a need for noting 56k anymore as most people seem to use some form of DSL or cable nowadays.

Many of today's acronyms are kinda like this. I remember when I first saw LMAO and LOL and wondered what the hell people were talking about!

Wow, I sound like an old man talking about "first seeming LOL" and 1200 baud modems.... and I'm only 26!
