I just pulled the vsv out on my 99 Avalon. The hard part is to get the screw loose that holds it in place. I used a 90 degree phillips screwdriver and once I broke it loose it backed out the rest of the way with my fingers. Use a pair of needlenose pliers to remove the hoses. I called my local dealer and the list on part#90910-12271 is $65.90 and jobber is 52.70. Call your Toyota dealer and see if they match the internet price of $52.90, on that part and they usually will. Its worth a little dirt in the eyes to save on the labor charge.
