springs arent something that have a limited life, usually ... especially OEM springs (aftermarket do, but only because they can sometimes be poorly made and begin to sag)

usually what needs replacing is the struts/shocks - and you will know this if your car becomes bouncy over bumps ... a good test is this:

press down on the front end (or rear end) firmly ... hold it down, then quickly release your hands from the car - if it bounces more than once, your shocks are probably getting bad .... ive seen that typical life for OEM/OE shocks are 70k miles, but can vary largely depending on driving style and road conditions
