i also have a 1993 camry se 5 speed. when i start my car the rpm's are also pretty high above a normal idle speed. it freaked me out at first, plus it was kinda hard to drive the 5 speed with the engine tached up, so i took it to a mechanic that i've known for years. he checked it out and did something to my ecu. it still does it, but not nearly as bad. it immediately starts going down after i start it and takes no more than 2 minutes to idle normal. i think you'll be ok as long as it goes down pretty quickly and is drivable,
