Out here all you gain is that fleeting moment of "Fuck You!" at having performed the maneuver and gotten in that person's face. It's a way of life on California freeways. Of a similar vein, another of my favorites that's very common in SoCal is to approach a car in the lane at high-speed and perform what I call smart-ass lane changes, where you cut out of the lane at the last moment, missing the car's bumper by six inches or less, then doing the same thing at the front. Nothin' but idiots and jerks!
