I dont need no stinkin' Maintenance light! Im glad mine 2002 doesnt have one of those stupid things. I hate them they are a pain in the AZZ to look at and reset. I just use "TRIP B" trip odometer to tell me when to change.
that light is nothing more then a built in sales tool to make you take your car in to dealer or even worse, Jiffy lube to have (probably incompetent) techs change your oil and/or any of the following: overfill same/underfill same/mangle your drain plug/or make i t so tight king kong couldnt remove it/screw something else up.
Anybody who needs a "Maintenance required" light to come on to tell them when to change the oil isnt going to have the car much longer than 100k anyway, cause it'll be worn out from inadequate maintenance.
