Very little highway miles. I did the calculations by subracting the miles from one fill to another and dividing by the gallons used to fill up at each stop. The 06 is by far better. Anyone have any reason as to why? How are all these people getting better gas milage than me? I don't drive the car hard.

How many miles on it? I mean, when I bought my 04 corolla it took about 6k miles before i get the best mpg i could. If they are right, the improved technology is supposed to compensate for the heavier weight and slight increasement in horsepower. Once the car is broken-in, I think it should get as good or even slightly better fuel economy than the 06 model.
