you can shuffle, there is a rand(Dom) button on touch screen, you just won't see the titles/artist displayed - only a track number. The main aux.menu shows numbers 1 - 6 (discs), each represents a playlists (the first 5 playlists on the iPod &#6 is all the music/tracks on the iPod, again, no playlists name/title).
