yes and no. It's a bit depending on the dealership. Our last time we went to the Toyota dealer, they put 5W20 into everything, including our Gen. 8.
One barrel fits all, that's the point.

As to the question in Houston, you may want to look at Amsoil's 0W40 for
best heat viscosity while the 0W is good for the cold startup.
