The oil drainage scenario did come to my mind too, but a new car doing this already? It's been running okay since, looks like gas mileage hit the dirt a bit since all of this though.

you milage dropping can definatly be a symptom of something being wrong. i would put a little more pressure on the dealer to inspect further.
