they put the 2GR-FE in the Camry, Avalon, rav4, sieana, and solara at all about the same time. SO why not put the 2.7 in at the same time? The new 2.7 will now most likely be Toyota's new core engine for most I4 equipped vehicles considering it gets better mileage/power compared to the 2AZ. IT wouldn't make sense to produce 2 different engines that are so close in size.
