Once in a blue moon what he say does contribute to the discussion. But most of his reply/comment is as useless as his "Unbeliable..." that he usually reply.

Anyway, back to the topic. I did try this idea once and like yours my GPS is also almost fit. But after thinking about all the troubles it will cause, it wasn't worth it for me and beside I do use my tray.

My GPS is using the Mini USB which extend out too far. And if I do go on trip, I would want to take it along too. And once in awhile I do use the audio cable so can't have it dedicated to the GPS. And the one thing to top it all off is when the audio and power plug into the GPS at same time, there is a hissing noise in the audio... too annoying.

I'll just use the mount that came with the GPS and most problems solved.
