Yea dcemureviews link works nicely although from what i saw it appears its to remove the entire compartment (domelights, homelink and all) rather than just the sunglass compartment, but it should still prove helpful.

I think bkushner is probably speaking in general due to njeralds err... blunt nature?
Crap, I thought I posted images of the map/dome housing when I was trying to swap out my bulbs. Well, you do not have to remove the headliner. Even removing the entire housing (pulling down), there is nothing from the inside. I'll see if I still have pictures on my camry...I dont think I do.

Since I dont have pics on me, this will do..

This is without the sunroof buttons but same look. Image shows the sunglass case open. There is no way to remove that section. Only way is to remove the cover from the housing. Even if you were to pull the whole housing off, theres nothing you can do. The inner black piece that you see is one big piece and is part of the housing.

Since it fits the way it is but when closing, it doesnt fit, only thing I can think of to make it fit when closed is to cut an opening of inside the holder.

*EDIT*
Not the actual overhead console but just an idea
