Sounds like the internal amplifier on the head unit is dying. And you'd be hardpressed to find a head unit that only puts out 15x4. Just pick out a head unit, turn the bass down and don't play it loud. When the speakers blow, replace them with cheap aftermarket ($30-40 pair that can handle the extra power and won't blow).
