95 $Runner head gasket problem
My 1995 $Runner (111K miles) also has an external headgasket leak at cylinder 1. After talking to my dealer and Toyota customer service (1-800-331-4331), Toyota claims that my vehicle engine (identified by VIN) was built with an "improved" head gasket and is not covered by the recall. I suspect that the "improved" gaskets are also failing and my $Runner is not the only one that has failed. Call Toyota customer service with your VIN to see what they say about your engine.
