The 5 sp is still drive by wire. I know because I was once trying to merge into traffic from a driveway. I had the car going idle speed and I romped on the gas when I had a chance and there was a 1-2s delay where the car was like "are you sure?" "you're still holding gas, i guess you are," and then "i guess you really really want to go since the gas is still floored" and then it took off.
