A. Wow WTF, Mr.Defensive? I told you it looked good, not cheap and crappy.

B. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. ...especially Wikipedia. Just because your's has a box around it doesn't mean its well designed. That heat shield with no additional insulation is only going to heat up with prolonged exposure to the temps in the engine bay. And I only said it didn't LOOK like a true CAI. From the photos it looks like a Short Ram Intake with a fancy heat shield. A "true" cold air intake would have some kind of direct source of fresh 'cooler' outside air. Most CAIs actually pass thru the unibody and in to the cavity in front of one of the front wheels where they can get fresh air from the existing vents on the front of the car. Additionally I don't see any way the box you have seals above the intake pipe and even if it does any bit of air moving thru the part of the pipe not shielded by the box is going to suffer from heat soak.

C. Are you fcuking kidding me. Do some research before you mouth off. I haven't dedicated my time here for the past +7 years because I like typing. I do happen to know what I'm talking about. I've probably built more cars than you are years old and most of them professionally for other people. I have no interest in manufacturing parts, I enjoy the hobby and participating in the associated sports and if I do find myself in need something that doesn't already exist I have the resources to have it fabricated.

D. I never said Spectre was a bad brand. I only said it was available at AutoZone. In a pinch I've used Spectre bits on several cars I've built and they've held up just fine. But by your money making theory APC has got to be king and Greddy/Trust must be cheap crap because they're going out of business.

E. Your other post has been locked for double posting.

F. Consider this a warning - Rule# 10. Ideas and opinions may be challenged, but NO personal attacks.

G. Keep on modding because ultimately it is up to you and your personal preference and you should never let anyone's opinion of anything stand in your way of expressing yourself.
